What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at CareMedica?
We are seeking a part-time detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team at CareMedica and its affiliated companies. In this role, you will be responsible for handling essential accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, Billing, payroll and bank and credit card reconciliations. Additionally, you will support the Practice Administrator with administrative duties and provide monthly analysis of provider productivity. This position plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the practice while ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable (A/P):
- Process and manage vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Maintain organized records of A/P transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable (A/R):
- Reconcile ECW patient and insurance billing to QuickBooks Online our internal financial software.
- Payroll (P/R):
- Process payrolls for all employees
- Maintain payroll records and handle any related inquiries or adjustments.
- Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations:
- Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card accounts on a monthly basis.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure that financial records are accurate.
- Provider Productivity Analysis:
- Conduct monthly analysis of provider productivity, preparing detailed reports for the Practice Manager.
- Identify trends and provide insights to help improve overall practice performance.
- Administrative Assistance:
- Provide administrative support to the Practice Manager, including assisting with financial reporting and operational tasks.
- Assist with office supply management and other day-to-day administrative duties.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance preferred, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online accounting software and/or similar financial software.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a must).
- Experience with medical billing and coding software is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of medical insurance billing and coding.
- Experience with provider productivity analysis and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations.
