Travel Rate : $103$110 (Based on yrs exp)Local Rate : $95$102Job Summary : Reporting to the Office Manager of Emerson Cardiovascular Associates and working under the immediate direction of the Physician(s) the Cardiac Sonographer performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Cardiographic testing on patients.Job Description : MondaySunday 7 : 00am5 : 30pm40 hours 4x10sNo call requirementWeekends dependent upon agreed schedule. Preference will be FridayMonday 7a5p however open to schedule. No Holiday requirementJob Functions : Operates ultrasound equipment to perform and interpret within clinical parameters MMode 2D Color Doppler Pulsed and Continuous Wave Doppler Stress Echo Stress Doppler ultrasound for diagnostic purposes. Performs a variety of technical duties required in nontraumatic noninvasive examinations using phonoapexcardiograms imaging duplex and ultrasound equipment in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Analyzes patient s clinical history fully in order to identify the purpose of the examination frame the clinical question(s) that the examination is intended to answer and expand the examination as necessary to answer the clinical questions. Positions patients and operates equipment to produce the most reliable and informative data.Evaluates as recording occurs and performs complete analysis.Explains procedures to patients. Assists the Cardiologists in Transesophageal echo studies (TEE) as well as Dobutamine echo examinations as needed Processes and distributes all reports in a timely manner and prepares charge spill for billing. Assures that the quality of testing and testing equipment is on a level of industry standard. Maintains and supports patient s rights to care privacy and respect. Other duties as assigned from time to timeMinimum Qualifications : Education : Completion of a Certified Ultrasound program required. Cardiac Sonography certificate program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent required. Experience : Minimum of two years experience performing and interpreting 2D MMode and Doppler Echocardiograms strongly preferred.Vascular Ultrasound experience preferred. Licensure / Certification : BLS RDCS or RCS requiredSkills : Strong communication skills. Must be well versed in medical terminology Ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to the patient and answer patient s questions Maintains a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy cardiovascular pathophysiology hemodymanics and embryology to recognize normal and abnormal cardiovascular structure function and abnormalities of blood flow.
