Day Surgery Unit Our Day Surgery unit is a fastpaced environment that includes high acuity patients. Patient Population : General Surgery Orthopedics Neuro Gynecology ENT Oncology Pain management Interventional Radiology and Gastroenterology patients. PreOp and Phase II Patient Ratios : PreOp 1 : 1; Phase II : Ranges from 1 : 2 1 : 35; per ASPAN (American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses guidelines. Number of Beds : 18 Department Specifics : Team nursing approach to preoperative patients ability to cross train in PACU and GI lab and collaborative team. Qualifications Accredited program or (2) two years minimum required for this position. A major focus or specialization in Nursing. Ideally some relevant professional experience though less than a (1) one year would suffice. Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
