Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our healthcare team. Key Responsibilities:
Record Management: Accurately maintain and update patient medical records, including electronic health records (EHR) and paper files.
Data Entry: Input patient information and medical history into EHR systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other legal requirements regarding patient privacy and data security.
Retrieval and Filing: Retrieve and file medical records efficiently, responding to requests from healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies as needed.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of medical records for accuracy and completeness, addressing discrepancies as necessary.
Training and Support: Assist in training staff on proper medical records documentation and management practices.
Communication: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain necessary documentation and clarify any discrepancies in patient records.
Reporting: Prepare and generate reports related to medical records for internal and external stakeholders.
Experience: Previous experience in medical records management or healthcare administration is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health record systems and medical coding; strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
