Responsibilities:
- Assisting nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing direct patient care
- Monitoring and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
- Assisting with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients
- Turning and repositioning patients to prevent bedsores
- Assisting with mobility and ambulation of patients
- Collecting specimens for laboratory testing
- Assisting with medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and gastric lavage
- Administering medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician
- Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate medical records
- Providing emotional support to patients and their families
Skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic nursing procedures
- Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage and maintenance
- Familiarity with home care and hospice care practices
- Ability to assist with dialysis treatments and inhalation therapy
- Proficiency in critical care techniques and emergency response protocols
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, such as Cerner
- Experience working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or other critical care setting
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
