CareOne has an exciting opportunity open for a PART TIME Regional MDS Consultant to join our team.
Our Ideal candidate has prior regional MDS Consultant experience; however, we will give serious consideration to a dynamic, goal oriented, self-motivated MDS Coordinator with at least 4 years’ experience.
*The Regional MDS Consultant will cover three (3) CareOne skilled nursing facilities in the GREATER SPRINGFIELD/LONGMEADOW/HOLYOKE area
This role will report directly to the Senior VP of Clinical Reimbursement *
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exhibit professional standards of behavior
- Follow and uphold the company Code of Conduct
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Attend PDPM and Weekly Medicare meetings when in the centers
- Monitor compliance with the Monthly Billing Reconciliation process
- Audit the completion and accuracy of MDS's and Care Plans per schedule as required for Medicare, Managed care and OBRA schedules
- Ensure compliance with State, Federal, and SimpleLTC transmissions and facilitate modifications as needed
- Facilitate and coordinate with other regional staff as needed
- Communicate promptly to your supervisor and facility team/regional team any issues or concerns
- Monitor/Audit the issuance of denial letters, coordination of Medicare certification completion, and nursing documentation to support skilled needs
- Serve as a resource for the center staff for PDPM and state Medicaid reimbursement guidelines
- Monitor the compliance of company processes developed to appropriately maximize reimbursement
Position Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved RN/LPN program
- Current RN/LPN license in the state and credentials as required
- Passing RAC-CT certification course within 90 days of employment, paid for by CareOne
- Prior experience in Medicare PDPM reimbursement and/or MDS experience
- General knowledge of Managed Care reimbursement systems
- Word processing and computer skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to maintain an effective, friendly working relationship with others
- Basic knowledge of Quality Measures
- Knowledge of the 5 Star report
