Responsibilities
- Effectively using medical classification software to assign procedure and diagnosis codes for insurance billing.
- Reviewing claims to verify that information is accurate and complete.
- Submitting claims to insurance companies ensuring all data is accurate and complete.
- Staying up-to-date with coding requirements and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborating with billing department to ensure all invoices are received and paid in a timely manner.
- Resolving patient complaints and insurance company disputes.
- Keeping track of patient data over multiple visits and managing detailed, specifically-coded information.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of health record systems and insurance processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proven ability to manage detailed, highly-specific (yet often ambiguous) information.
- High levels of organization, responsibility, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Proof of COVID vaccination
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years old and above
