Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other health needs in their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, emotional support, and the ability to follow care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health by taking vital signs.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals and adjust as needed based on client feedback.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
- Ensure the safety and security of clients by adhering to resident rights and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid as required.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate parties.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Certification or experience as a nurse or nursing assistant is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding basic health monitoring techniques.
- Familiarity with resident rights and advocacy for client needs.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is highly desirable.
- Ability to follow care plans meticulously while being adaptable to changing client needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy, patience, and communication.
