Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging them in conversation and activities.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and any significant observations regarding the client's condition or behavior.
Skills
- Proficiency in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Experience in long-term care or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Strong background in home care practices and social work principles is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
- Cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals tailored to client needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
