What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Professional position at Cares of Western PA?
CARES full-time staff receive a company vehicle to use for getting to and from work and for the entire workday because you'll be out transporting our Participants (VIPs)!
Do you have a passion for helping others and desire a meaningful job you love? Cares of Western PA needs two full-time Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual disabilities with the ultimate goal of gaining independence and community integration at the new Perrysville Campus of our community-based day program.
Your work week:
- Monday - Friday
- 8 am - 4 pm
- No Nights
- No Weekends
- No Holidays
With CARES programs approximately 75% of the time, here's what you'll be doing:
- Helping participants become a valuable part of their community.
- Volunteering for non-profits.
- Helping our VIPs learn life skills and prevocational skills.
- Enjoying many different recreational activities.

Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Ability to pass physical, TB.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks.
- Experience helpful, but not necessary. Complete PAID training provided.
