What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Processor - School Based(Mobile) position at CareSouth Carolina?
The Division of Dental Medicine provides dental care within our medical sites, in local area schools, and on our mobile dental unit. These services cover/include the following counties: Dillon, Marlboro, Chesterfield, Darlington, and Lee. This position requires travel on a daily basis to the assigned location within any/all of these counties.
Job Description
The duties of the Dental Processor include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver and pick up dental forms from the schools
- Communicate with school staff to verify and collect any needed student information
- Communicate with parents to verify and collect any missing or needed student information
- Process patient dental consent forms, including reviewing and entering patient health info into EMR, reviewing and entering patient demographics into EMR, reviewing and entering patient slide information into EMR, verifying that consent forms are fully completed and signed by patient (adult patients) or parent/guardian (school patients).
- Verification of dental insurance eligibility and benefits
- Verification of slide fee with patient or patient’s parent/guardian as necessary
- Answers telephone, creates telephone encounters as necessary and forwards to appropriate staff as needed
- Communication with dental scheduling coordinator to determine what schools/forms need to be processed and any due dates for processing
- Communicate with school-based teams any pertinent school or student information that would be necessary for a school visit, i.e. a list of students to be seen or patient route slips
- Answers parent/guardian questions as necessary about the school program and what services we provide
- Collaborates with other Processors, Dental School Based Program Coordinator and Dental Operations Manager to provide excellent care and service.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A certificate/diploma as a Medical Office Assistant or similar is preferred
- Minimum of one-year front office dental experience strongly preferred
- Experience in the use of eCW or other dental EMR software
- Insurance verification experience strongly preferred
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
- Must have the ability to multi-task and have excellent communication skills
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
Hours
Monday-Friday, 40 Hours per week.
Location
This position will be in Society Hill, SC, but will be required to work across our service area providing fill in with the school teams as needed. This could be in Bishopville, Darlington, Hartsville, Cheraw, Chesterfield, McColl, or Bennettsville.
