What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Aide | Full and Part-Time position at Carespring?
$13.50 to $16 Per Hour
We need Activity Aides to join our team at Doverwood Village in Hamilton, OH. You'll assist our residents' with recreational and social activities.
Must have the availability to work evenings and weekends.
You'll Be Responsible For:
- Reporting to the Activity Director
- Assisting with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities and entertainment for Memory Care Residents under the guidance of the Activity Director.
- Helping to improve the community by continually developing programs and activities that Memory Care Residents find interesting.
- Working activities that may be scheduled in the evening and on weekends
- Ensuring safe and enjoyable programs by explaining techniques and demonstrating activities for participants
- Participating in activity planning process, making suggestions for new programs, updating activity calendars, and distributing schedules to residents
- Assisting with planning special events (birthdays, anniversaries, recognitions)
- Observing and recording information about participation, assessment and progress of residents during activities
- Encouraging resident participation and involvement in activities and providing alternative activities and follow-up for residents not able to attend programs
- Helping residents with social activities, such as personal correspondence
- Ordering needed supplies, tracking inventory and preparing materials and supplies needed for daily programs
You'll Need To Have:
- At least 1 year of experience working with the elderly or individuals with disabilities
- Experience working with Memory Care (Alzheimer's and Dementia) patients (Preferred)
- Experience Planning and Coordinating Events
- High school diploma or GED
- Solid work history with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to respect all members of the healthcare team
- A positive attitude, energy and passion for working with the elderly
- Patience, understanding and compassion for those requiring our care
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
