We need a Medicaid Specialist to join our team at Carespring Healthcare Management in Loveland, Ohio.
As a Medicaid Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in processing potential Medicaid patients while ensuring complete and timely payments from Medicaid and related private portions. You'll identify best practices and implement processes for continuous improvement in order to reduce Medicaid pending days and eliminate write-offs related to Medicaid payors and transitions to Medicaid.
$50,000 to $60,000 Per Year
You'll Be Responsible For:
- Reviewing Financial Disclosure Forms (FD) to determine patient financial assistance needs, including Medicaid assistance and eligibility
- Reviewing Medicaid applications
- Assessing and resolving eligibility requirements, such as the need for QIT, CSV of Life Insurance policies
- Collaborating with facilities, patients, and families to gather necessary verifications for Medicaid applications
- Ensuring that Medicaid applications are submitted
- Educating, advocating, and communicating with patients, families, facilities, and county Medicaid offices during the pending process
- Keeping track of intake appointments, checking the status of pending cases, ensuring the gathering of additional verifications needed, and expediting the processing of pending cases.
- Maintaining continued contact with patients, responsible parties, county case workers, and facilities until Medicaid eligibility is secured and confirmed
- Verifying timely completion of each step of the Medicaid process and following up as necessary
- Documenting steps in HCS
- Working directly with LSW to file appeals and assess needs for outside resources, including consultants or legal involvement
- Ensuring annual recertifications are completed in a timely manner
- Maintaining electronic records and documentation of pending cases in HCS and maintaining accurate pending logs of current cases
You'll Need To Have:
- In-depth knowledge of Medicaid eligibility requirements
- A minimum of three years of relevant Medicaid experience
- Excellent communication skills
