• Experience Preferred: 3 years in a school setting or working with children, working with children on IEPs, experience with students who have mobility challenges
• Pay Rate Range: $23-$28
• Equipment/Materials Provided: TBD
• Additional Notes (area, district, staff): Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Safety Care Training preferred - if not trained, WPS will train them once hired.

• The classroom assistant supports students within and outside of the general education classroom according to their IEP's.
• Helps to implement the goals, modifications and benchmarks established by the special education liaison within the building.
• Works with the classroom teacher and assists in the classroom as the teacher deems appropriate. This may include small group instruction, giving frequent breaks, making modifications for students and working with diverse learning styles.
• Working with special needs population specifically students with language-based disabilities.
• Will implement current IEP plans and data collection.
• Working with all grade level colleagues along with the classroom teacher and special education liaisons.
• Assist student with transport during transitions, i.e. bathrooms, recess and lunch.
• Other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher/building principal.
