What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreman - Commercial Landscape Construction - Tucson position at Caretaker Landscape and Tree Management?
Position Summary
The Foreman position will be a subject matter expert for the team, as well as be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction enhancements crew work, efficiently to ensure the job stays on schedule. The Foreman will have a broad working knowledge of landscape installation disciplines with displayed experience and knowledge of commercial landscape irrigation installation and must be able to perform all the positions being supervised. Additionally, the Foreman will be held accountable for the labor hours, material, equipment, schedule and budget.
Essential Functions

- Daily interaction with the project site superintendent
- Managing crew production rates, quality control and safety
- Oversight of installations per plans and specifications
- Responsible for overseeing all crew member time and attendance clocking utilizing an iPhone
- Responsible for ensuring the daily maintenance of equipment
- Complete all necessary reports including daily time sheets, job site reports, and accident reports
- Communicate any safety incidents to project site superintendent and HR
- Training of new crew members, assessing strengths, and mentoring
- Other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Knowledge of Safe Work Practices; proper operation of light landscape equipment and tools; various plants and their proper care; proper watering techniques; soil preparation and conditioning; PPE; basic mathematics; company customer service objectives, norms, and strategies.

Education/Experience/Licenses
- Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record – required
- 2 years of Foreman landscape CONSTRUCTION or ENHANCEMENTS experience – required
- Proven leadership skills that result in safety, productivity, and quality – required
- Solid leadership skills and experience mentoring and developing a team and colleagues – required
- Working knowledge of irrigation systems and controllers. must have a broad working knowledge of landscape INSTALLATION / ENHANCEMENTS disciplines and must be able to perform all the positions being supervised– required
- Ability to read blueprints and lead crews to ensure work is completed as per specifications – required
- Bilingual English/Spanish - required
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Crew (average 4-6 crew members)
Work Environment
- Work 8 hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work if needed)
- Work is performed in the field with exposure to extreme temperatures including high heat index, dust storms, rain, for entire shifts
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions-temperatures may exceed 100 Degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended period of time
- In this role you may frequently stand, walk, climb or crouch on narrow or slippery surfaces that may have a steep incline
- Heavy work. Excreting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs of force to move objects.
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
- Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day

- Valley wide day travel in company vehicle to job sites
