Landscape Maintenance Gardener TURF/SPRORTS FIELD

Unique opportunity in sportsfield turf landscape maintenance!

Summary/Objective

We currently have 2 full time positions available for an experienced Sportsfield/Turf Maintenance crew member. This individual is responsible for performing a variety of landscape tasks specific to turf and sportsfield.

Essential Functions

• Maintain sportsfield playing area, accessibility and appearance using power and hand tools to perform duties such as: mowing, weeding, edging, maintain artificial turf and live grass sportsfields, blowing, sod installation, planting trees, shrubs and flowers.
• Operate and maintain equipment, following company safety standards and manufacturer’s recommendations
• Connects hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on grass fields to irrigate turf.
• Digs and rakes ground to prepare new fields, grades, cleans, and repairs.
• Plants, trims, and sprays trees and shrubs.
• Follows safety regulations
• Working in the high Arizona desert heat where temperatures could get as high as 120 degrees.

Requirements

• 2 years experience in SPORTSFIELD, TURF, GOLF COURSE GREENSKEEPING - required
• Ability and commitment to solid attendance with early morning starts - required
• Ability to pass a background check - required

None

Work Environment

• Will work outside all shift in extreme temperatures and weather conditions including sun, rain, wind
• Will be in direct sunlight for extended periods of time daily

Physical Requirements

•  Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• In this role you will frequently stand, walk, climb or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles
• Ability to work full shifts outdoors in all types of changing and extreme weather conditions including direct sun, extreme heat including temperatures over 100 degrees for more than one hour at a time, cold, rain and snow
• Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound
• Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, and landscaping construction equipment where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades. The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment
• The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level
