The Physical Therapist (PT, DPT, RPT) is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient care needs related to functional status/mobility, endurance/stamina, pain, and other medical conditions. Based on this assessment and evaluation, the PT develops a treatment plan, performs interventions aimed at improving and enhancing the patient's well-being, and evaluates progress towards goals.
- Evaluate patient function and physical therapy needs. Collaborate with physicians to develop effective therapy plans of care.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and report any changes in condition to supervising nurses and/or physicians.
- Treat patients to alleviate pain, restore function, and maintain maximum functioning using accepted standards of practice.
- Communicate treatment plans and progress to participating healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers.
