We are seeking a compassionate and experienced full-time Veterinarian to help launch a branch of a celebrated in-home euthanasia group in Washington, DC. As a Home with Dignity Veterinarian, you will be able to build your own schedule that works best for you. You will have the flexibility to choose the hours and days you work and adjust your schedule as needed. At Home with Dignity, you will have the opportunity to transform the way we care for our beloved furry family members during their most delicate moments and make a difference in the lives of pets and their families by providing a gentle and peaceful transition in the comfort of their own homes.

Home with Dignity Offers You:

  • Average of 4 to 6 patients per day
  • Base salary with 30% production
  • Up to $45k signing bonus
  • Competitive compensation
  • Access to complementary vacation homes across the country
  • A dedicated social worker and employee assistance program
  • Generous paid time off
  • Student loan support
  • Company-paid short-term disability and life insurance
  • Free continuing education through our own Learning Institute and additional CE allowance
  • Paid parental leave, adoption assistance and child/dependent care
  • Medical, dental, disability, life & vision insurance
  • 401k with match program
  • Community giveback with charity match and volunteer opportunities
  • A Veterinarian-centric culture and strong focus on skill development and education

Responsibilities

As an in-home euthanasia Veterinarian, you will experience:

Day-to-Day: In this role, you will conduct euthanasia procedures with care, compassion, and professionalism. You will travel to clients’ homes and perform the euthanasia procedure, seeing up to 6 patients a day. After each appointment, you will transport the pet to the local crematorium that Home with Dignity partners with. Our Veterinarian’s main and only focus is the appointments themselves and transportation of the pets. In addition to this, you are supported by an incredible team of Care Coordinators who handle all the administrative work (appointment scheduling, payment processing, client follow-up, etc.).

Work-Life Balance (but actually!): It's the oldest promise in the book, but we deliver. Your schedule is built around your life and the needs of the practice. No catching up on notes, no client follow-up calls, simply time to spend with your loved ones and reflect on the incredible impact you had on so many lives that day.

Kind and Grateful Clients: Clients in a hospital setting can be scared, angry, looking for someone to blame; unfortunately, this blame often falls on the Veterinarian. Our clients are in a different stage of the grieving process: acceptance. As a result, our Veterinarians are treated with a level of grace, appreciation and kindness that re-ignites a love of their profession.

Support, Mentorship and Community: As a member of our family, in addition to the back-office support, you will be part of a nationwide network of Veterinarians, who will provide you with mentorship, guidance, inspiration, support, and community.

Qualifications

  • Reliable Transportation: Must have a reliable SUV or similar vehicle for travel
  • Flexibility and Availability: Shifts available Monday – Saturday
  • Licensing: Must have valid DEA, State, and additional required licensing to practice veterinary medicine and handle controlled substances where Home with Dignity operates
