About the position
We are seeking full-time and part time Veterinarians to grow our Urgent Care team at Palmer Lake Veterinary Clinic. The incoming Veterinarian will get to create their own schedule, will only see non-life-threatening cases and our urgent care shifts start at just 6 hours in length! While we have an option for part time/relief shift team members as well, we are seeking a full time experienced Veterinarian to lead the team. This full time role will be 35-40 hours per week and no overnights to ensure a true work/life balance and a premium salary.

Palmer Lake Veterinary Clinic, a CareVet partner and booming practice in Palmer Lake, CO is now offering urgent care services! Located in one of the premier communities in Colorado, this hospital is a well-established, well-equipped full-service small animal practice with in-house CBC and chemistry analyzers, full body and dental digital radiography, radiosurgery, therapeutic laser therapy, and ultrasound.
CareVet offers you:
- Premium pay relief ranges from $145 to $170 an hour; full time (35-40 hours/week) salary range is $200-$250k with a generous signing bonus, student loan support, relocation stipend and no upfront non-compete.

Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
