What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at CareWell Health?
As the Controller, you will be responsible for month-end reporting, working with center operational teams to promote efficiencies, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. You will also be responsible for interacting with giving presentations to various levels of management throughout the organization.
Essential Functions
- Financial statement analysis to provide in depth understanding of business units; create recommendations to promote efficiency, cost effective procedures, and improved profitability.
- Complete and review annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide weekly and/or monthly projections on financial progress of individual facilities.
- Propose and implement solutions to support cost reduction and reporting enhancement.
- Provide labor management support to operational teams.
- Participate in the execution and refinement of the company’s comprehensive business planning process.
- Complete monthly reporting responsibilities as well as working with the facilities during financial statement reviews.
- Oversee year-end audit, work with external auditors.
- Preparation of annual financial statements and related footnote disclosures.
- Oversee accounts payable and procurement departments.
- Completion of general periodic departmental requirements.
- Monthly and year-end close process and financial reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) of the Corporate Office.
- Enterprise-wide consolidated reporting and monitoring compliance of all covenants.
- Ensuring financial reports are in compliance with GAAP and the results are presented timely according to published schedules.
- Leading and mentoring the Finance team, including general ledger, accounts payable.
- Overseeing the reconciliation of facility payroll, benefit deductions, contributions and other benefit related accounts.
- Leading the annual budget process, external audit, tax preparation and home office cost report.
- Ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place and developing supporting policies and procedures as needed.
- Assisting in annual insurance renewals and retirement plan administration and reconciliation

Minimum Education/Certifications
Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or Economics. Masters or CPA preferred.
