We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist Physician to join our medical team. The Hospitalist will provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and coordinating care for a variety of medical conditions in an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to hospitalized individuals, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharge planning.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Perform clinical procedures, including but not limited to central line placement and intubation, as required for patient care.
- Collaborate with consulting specialists, primary care physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Participate in rapid response and code blue situations, providing timely and effective care in emergencies.
- Document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage transitions of care, ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and primary care providers regarding discharge instructions and follow-up plans.
- Work closely with case management, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure efficient and effective discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including monitoring hospital metrics such as length of stay, readmission rates, and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
- Provide guidance, education, and mentorship to residents, medical students, and other clinical staff, as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Unrestricted medical license in NJ. DEA certification.
- Board Certification: Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Experience: Previous hospitalist experience preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical acumen with the ability to manage diverse medical conditions.
- Proficiency and comfort performing central line placement and intubation.
- Willingness to work 100% nocturnist shifts (7 PM–7 AM), 16-20 shifts per month.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in EMR systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care.
