What are the responsibilities and job description for the Informatics Specialist position at CareWell Health?
The Informatics Specialist in Pharmacy (IS) in conjunction with the Director of Informatics, is responsible for supporting the pharmacy department. The IS ensures that those in collaboration adhere to goals and objectives of the organization in accordance with its policies and procedures and contributes to and supports the mission, vision and values of the department and organization. As a supporting role the IS:
- Collaborates on development and maintenance of pharmacy system standards.
- Assists users with the evaluation and selection of departmental applications, hardware, and software.
- Serves as a project leader and liaison between designated departments and groups for implementation and support of fully integrated clinical systems.
- Continually improve work procedures and processes for unit(s) managed by working with technology professionals and managers to analyze system problems and develop solutions.
- Collaborate on documentation of information system policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain test plans for designated management systems.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical staff using informatics tools, ensuring they receive exceptional support and guidance.
- Meet with clients to understand their unique needs, challenges, and objectives, delivering tailored solutions in a clear and digestible format.
- Communicate complex clinical data and informatics concepts in an engaging and understandable manner, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Analyze clinical data to derive insights that inform best practices and improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with IT and data analytics teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with informatics analysts in managing service requests (breaks, optimizations, fixes, or changes).
- Validate change requests built by application management support (AMS) team
- Develop and deliver training sessions and materials tailored to clinical staff, promoting proficiency in EHR system (Cerner) and analytics tools.
- Monitor user adoption and satisfaction, gathering feedback to identify opportunities for enhancements and drive product improvements.
- Create reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders, helping to inform strategic decisions.
- Advocate for the needs of clinical users within the organization, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that address user feedback.
- Stay current with healthcare informatics trends and best practices, sharing knowledge with the team to foster continuous improvement.

Minimum Education/Certifications:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR associate degree/bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- New Jersey license.
- CSR-Prescriptive Authority preferred.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Medication Use, and/or Committees
- Clinical Practice and Policy Standardization
- Omnicell and Omnicell Servers reporting experience
- Smart Pump drug library(ies) and analytics surrounding: Inpatient Pharmacy Services
- Order set management within EHR: Cerner
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Remote Part- Time: minimum 20 hours/week
- On- Call if needed
