Azure Cloud Architect

Carex is partnering with a Financial Services industry partner to find an accomplished Azure Cloud Technical Architect II to lead the strategic design, implementation, and governance of infrastructure solutions across a complex enterprise environment. This role plays a pivotal part in aligning technical infrastructure with business objectives through innovation, scalability, and secure architecture strategies.

This role is a contract to hire position that allows for a fully remote work environment. No C2C candidates will be accepted at this time.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and enterprise-wide infrastructure architecture frameworks that support business strategy.
• Lead infrastructure initiatives across business units, ensuring consistent, high-performing, and compliant architecture solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews to ensure adherence to scalability, performance, and security standards.
• Develop and maintain forward-looking infrastructure roadmaps that align with long-term business and digital transformation goals.
• Guide enterprise integration efforts, ensuring seamless connectivity across diverse systems and environments.
• Oversee cloud and on-prem architecture for complex 3-tier applications, including leading large-scale migration efforts.
• Incorporate governance, quality standards, and compliance into infrastructure planning and execution.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating architectural concepts into strategic business recommendations.
• Drive innovation through the evaluation of emerging technologies and execution of future-state infrastructure models.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for advanced infrastructure solutions.
• Mentor and guide infrastructure architects and engineers, fostering team development and knowledge sharing.
  
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, with a track record of leading complex enterprise-level projects.
• Proven expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, with strong working knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Experience architecting scalable web services and 3-tier applications across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure governance, security frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
• Skilled in system migration strategies and executing high-availability and BCDR capabilities in cloud ecosystems.
• Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and familiarity with infrastructure automation and monitoring tools.
• In-depth knowledge of virtualization, networking, enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS), and systems integration.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to align technical initiatives to business outcomes and influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to foster innovation, build cross-functional teams, and lead through change in a dynamic environment.
