Qualifications
Summary:
The Licensed Practicing Nurse is responsible for the provision of medical services in a community mental health center which provides outpatient, consultation, emergency, and residential treatment to residents of a geo-access area.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts examinations, provides direct treatment services, and reviews medical/psychiatric/psychological histories.
- Recommends referral to appropriate inpatient or to other treatment resources if beyond the scope of the Center’s services.
- Reviews treatment plans and signs treatment plans to initiate, continue or discontinue services.
- Consults actively with Center staff regarding treatment of clients in the Center’s care.
- Provides back-up consultations to Center On-Call staff providing emergency services.
- Maintains licensure and certification.
- Participates in quality assurance activities as evidenced by participation in the identification and resolution of problems identified by quality assurance activities, such as qualitative and quantitative peer review, direct observation, and other quality assurance monitors in place.
- Assists in the promulgation of medical/psychiatric policies and procedures, consults with the medical staff and designated administrative staff members regarding the quality of medical services.
- Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies.
- Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Tennessee with all related credentials as a licensed practicing nurse.
