Summary:
Under the administrative supervision of the Director of School Based Services who is the designated School Based Behavioral Health (SBBHL) Supervisor for the agency, the SBBHL Operational Supervisor(OS) is responsible for ensuring the adherence of each assigned SBBHL program to the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework through technical assistance and training in all phases of the program development and operation and to promote cooperation and coordination between districts, schools, families, and community mental health service providers.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
- The SBBHL OS shall provide support, training, supervision, and guidance to the SBBHL liaisons to ensure continuing compliance with the SBBHL program model guidelines.
- The SBBHL OS will visit all liaisons at least twice each fiscal year. OS will make other visits as needed for training and support, as well as community engagement needs.
- The SBBHL OS will work to maintain strong, positive relationships with schools currently being served by the SBBHL program and to new or prospective districts and/or school systems.
- The SBBHL OS will collaborate with school leadership and school district leadership for the purpose of identification of operational needs and opportunities.
- The SBBHL OS will develop working relationships with the school’s Coordinated School Health representative and each area’s TN Dept. of Homeland Security and Safety, Homeland Security agent and maintain monthly communication to assess the needs and safety of each partnering school.
- He or she will assist in the hiring process, including interviewing prospective employees.
- SBBHL OS conducts training and orientation for new SBBHL staff and/or new personnel and ensures liaisons receive ongoing training as needed..
- Assesses performance of each liaison through interviews of principals and teachers, observations of activities, review of records, and conduction of satisfaction surveys.
- Provides feedback and recommendations to hiring agency and the State regarding each SBBHL(s)’ performance, budget concerns, and computer and database maintenance.
- Ensures that liaisons are completing paperwork, monthly reports and any other reports as required by State and agency, and tracking all other necessary data related to the SBBHL program.
- Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies.
- Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others.

Position Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling or a related field. Three years of experience providing oversight to others, and one year experience in a school mental health position.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, walking, turning, twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (<20lbs), manual use of keyboard and other office equipment; must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
