Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant Resource Pool offers opportunities to expand your nursing experience in direct patient care. The Resource Pool staff work in multiple areas of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital including the Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, Emergency, Inpatient Psych, Intensive Care, Medical Surgical and Progressive Care Units. As a Nursing Assistant, you will have the opportunity to play a critically important role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. You will work with a team-oriented, patient-centric unit that prides itself on the quality and speed of care delivered to our patients. You will be exposed to a wide variety of patient care, enabling you to acquire nursing skills and experience necessary to expand and grow your career with Carilion Clinic. As part of the health care team, the Nursing Assistant performs basic clerical and technical clinical services relating to the care, cleanliness, safety, and comfort for patients of all ages. The Nursing Assistant also provides quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care via interactions with unit staff, patients, physicians, families, visitors, management, ancillary departments, and the general public. The Nursing Assistant provides education to patients and family members according to approved protocols and the plan of care. |

Licenses and Certifications
- BLS Required Within 6 Months
Physical Requirements
- Sit for prolonged periods of time
- Prolonged periods of using a computer
- May be exposed to infectious diseases, biohazardous and hazardous materials, including regulated medical wastes, and combative patients
- Sit with patients on suicide precautions
