Culps Caf is a one-of-a-kind eatery paying homage to the small soda fountains and lunch counters found throughout Dayton in the early 1900s. The core of Dayton Historys mission is to educate and preserve. As a part of Dayton History, Culps Cafs primary goal is to both immerse our guests in a welcoming, entertaining, historic, and educational experience.
Basic Function:
This position exists to keep the kitchen running smoothly by cleaning and sanitizing dishes so that Cooks and Front of House staff have the supplies they need to prepare food and beverages and serve it to guests.
General Responsibilities:
- Unload cutlery and dishes brought to the kitchen by front of house staff while loading and organizing them into trays for the washer.
- Hand wash large pots and pans that are unable to be washed in the commercial dishwasher.
- Assist with taking garbage and trash to dumpster area.
- Assist with washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls and floors in order to meet or exceed food safety standards.
- Assemble, maintain, and break down the dish machine when needed (training will be provided).
- Assist with prep work when needed.
- Additional duties as assigned by management

This position reports to the Kitchen Supervisor.
