Culps Caf is a one-of-a-kind eatery paying homage to the small soda fountains and lunch counters found throughout Dayton in the early 1900s. The core of Dayton Historys mission is to educate and preserve. As a part of Dayton History, Culps Cafs primary goal is to both immerse our guests in a welcoming, entertaining, historic, and educational experience.
Basic Function:
This position exists to ensure our guests have a high-quality and enjoyable experience by serving food in a timely and accurate manner.
General Responsibilities:
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers tables quickly and accurately
- Act as point of contact between front of house and kitchen
- Communicate information to kitchen supervisor and cooks with attention to priorities and special requests
- Assist with bussing tables and sanitization
- Answer guests questions and ensure they have everything they need
- Build rapport with customers to create a positive atmosphere
- Answer basic questions about Culps Cafe and Carillon Historical Park
- Communicate customer feedback to the appropriate staff
- Additional duties as assigned by management
Line of Communication and Accountability:
This position reports to the Restaurant General Manager.
Qualification Requirements:
- General POS knowledge, experience with Toast preferred
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective team member
- Ability to multi-task
- Effective stress management and conflict resolution skills
- Available for various shifts including weekends

- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
