Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care within our assisted living facility. This role requires a deep knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and the MDS (Minimum Data Set) process, along with the ability to manage shifts effectively and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans in accordance with resident needs and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding resident care and rights.
- Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to resident health records and nursing practices.
- Stay informed about advancements in nursing practices and implement best practices within the facility.
Requirements
- Proven experience in nursing leadership roles, preferably within assisted living.
- In-depth understanding of physiology, medical terminology, and resident rights.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead effectively and motivate staff.
- Proficient in managing shift operations and nurse management systems.
- A valid nursing license is required.
