Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will work in various healthcare settings, including clinics, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, particularly in environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, inpatient units, and teaching hospitals.
Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transportation within the facility.
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Assist healthcare professionals in delivering care in various settings such as medical-surgical units, geriatrics, OR (Operating Room), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and hospital medicine departments.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology related to trauma centers and inpatient care.
- Familiarity with the needs of geriatric patients and those requiring specialized care.
