Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
- Help clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring as necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are communicated to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information.
- Support clients in engaging in community activities and social interactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
- Provide direct support in activities that promote personal development and independence.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, especially working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with basic cooking and cleaning tasks is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client assistance.
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained.
- A background in nursing or related fields may be beneficial but is not mandatory.
