Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling and appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Assist with the intake process, including collecting patient information and verifying insurance details.
- Support clinical staff by preparing necessary documentation and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed for patient assessments.
- Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the administrative area to promote a welcoming environment for patients.
- Handle medical administrative support tasks such as filing, data entry, and responding to inquiries.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical administrative role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to multitask
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required.
- EMR experience with ECW (EClinicalWorks) is highly desired.
- Familiarity with patient care protocols in settings such as geriatrics, hospice and palliative care, and urgent care facilities is advantageous.
- Understanding of medical terminology is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems or similar software is a plus.
