Job Description:
Caring Unlimited works with the community to end domestic violence in York County. The position will: support agency strategies for development and community engagement with an emphasis on external communications and special events; raise awareness about domestic violence and publicize the organization’s work through a variety of channels, including website, print and social media, to a variety of audiences; implement best practices and foster community relationships for a successful development program, manage database, ensure timely acknowledgements, and track in-kind donations; coordinate organization-sponsored special events. Requires travel throughout York County, occasional nights and weekends.
Communications:
- Collaborate on development and implementation of a communications and marketing plan
- Maintain website and social media accounts; collaborate to develop effective social media strategy.
- Create engaging text, image, and video content for use across platforms.
- Present to community-based groups, visibility events, distribute materials throughout York County.
Events and Fundraising:
- Coordinate annual fundraising events and Domestic Violence awareness month planning and activities.
- Assist in the development of goals and strategies for fundraising campaigns and events, manage in-kind donations.
- Maintain appropriate files, record keeping and data. Produce reports as requested.
- Provide support/ act as liaison to community members organizing or coordinating fundraising events and activities to benefit Caring Unlimited.
- Follow best practices for donor relations including timely acknowledgement of gifts
General:
- Maintain working knowledge of software including CU’s constituent resource management system, Adobe suite, and Microsoft office
- Develop and maintain positive relationships within the community
- Comply with and support the organization’s mission, philosophy, policies, procedures and confidentiality standards.
- Participate regularly in 24-hour helpline coverage and backup.
Job Requirements:
- 2 or more years of related work experience. Prior experience with communications, events, and/or development in a non-profit environment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of multiple social media platforms.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter able to work collaboratively and independently, and balance multiple projects at a time.
- Strong organizational/ time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or other.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
- Successful completion of required advocacy training upon hire.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree. Other qualifications may be obtained through work experience, education, personal experience, or a combination of these.
