Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare, particularly in areas such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, and hospital medicine. This role is crucial for enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide mobility support and help clients with transfers between beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment.
- Monitor and record clients' health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to Noblesville and Avon.
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine, medical-surgical care, geriatrics, or experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care including lifting and transferring clients.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is required.
- Negative TB result required.
- Must be reliable, compassionate, and possess a strong work ethic focused on client-centered care.
