What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at CaringEdge?
What the position looks like:
The position will encompass overall responsibility for strategically managing all aspects of billing, collecting, and follow-up on all accounts as assigned to obtain reimbursement for patient treatment(s).
This will include but not be limited to outbound phone calls, phone support, file maintenance, clerical, data entry and exceptional telephone etiquette and call handling. Maintain accurate Medicare and Medicaid billing analysis reports. Obtain prior authorizations for home health and hospice services to a variety of insurance carriers, monitor accounts receivables, resubmitting bills to overdue accounts, and alerting the billing manager of seriously overdue accounts.
What you will need:
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
Good organization and time management skills
One year minimum experience in health care billing required, preferably in home health care systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proficient knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality in healthcare
Competency in aspects of billing, claims and denial reviews
Knowledge of Medicare, Commercial and Private insurance
