Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group leader assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with children who experience a variety of behavioral challenges, including ADHD, ODD, high-functioning autism, trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. Your primary focus will be to assist these children in developing essential social skills, emotional regulation, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to children with behavioral challenges, helping them stay on task and manage their emotions effectively.
- Teach and reinforce social skills, emotional regulation techniques, and essential life skills.
- Assist in de-escalating high-emotion situations, using appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Supervise and guide children during transitions between locations, ensuring their safety and providing necessary support.
- Collaborate with other team members, including teachers, counselors, and parents, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor and document the progress of each child, making adjustments to strategies as needed.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and development for each child.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with behavioral challenges, particularly those with ADHD, ODD, high-functioning autism, trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety.
- Strong understanding of social skills development, emotional regulation, and life skills training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children and build trusting relationships.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, using de-escalation techniques effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to safely transport children as needed.
- Highschool Diploma or GED
