Position Summary
The LIMS Implementation Engineer II provides support in the selection, installation, configuration, implementation, and ongoing utilization of clinical systems and specifically LIMS systems. The position analyzes, programs, tests, implements, and maintains clinical information systems as well as provides advanced knowledge in problem determination, evaluation and resolution.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides advanced expertise and product knowledge to install, configure, and support application systems.
- Provides advanced expertise in problem determination, evaluation, and resolution.
- Provides operational systems support to clients.
- Codes and modifies software modules as required.
- Assists in determining and defining departmental training needs.
- Provides on-call support in accordance with the on-call calendar.
- Assists with project and program development.
- Reviews and documents system requirements.
- Assists in the development and monitoring of project schedules.
- Develops and coordinates and executes comprehensive test plans.
- Prepares project status reports.
- Monitors project progress and updates project tracking system.
- Reviews system studies.
- Performs detailed test scenarios to minimize negative impact on system users and production operations.
- Performs post-implementation support of new or re-engineered systems.
- Assists in developing end user training sessions.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
- Accepts other duties as assigned.
- Lead, plan, schedule and implement testing for projects, define test objectives, write scripts (manual and automated)
- Formulate test plans including systems analysis, risk analysis, dependency analysis, writing and plotting test strategies, and determines how to report defects (pre / post- production
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people, both oral and written
- Architect, implement and manage automated suites of black-box and white-box test scripts
- Identify product issues and write detailed bug reports during the product development cycle
- Communicate and coordinate with peers and senior-level individuals in cross-functional groups to articulate and compare alternative testing approaches necessary.
