The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for working on the maintenance of Caritas buildings to ensure smooth operations of programs. Work is performed under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs, ballasts, moving furniture or equipment, plumbing issues, cleaning gutters, sidewalks and parking lots, patching walls and ceilings, painting, grass and weed control, mowing, repairing fences, repairing doors, etc. as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Monitors systems and/or work order procedures as instructed by Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician to detect problems as early as possible.
- Assists the Director of Facilities and Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician with maintenance activities, including work performed by contractors or vendors. Examples of such items are the inspection of fire alarm systems, sprinkler system, boiler or water heater inspections, replacing broken windows, furnace filters, etc.
- Work independently and as part of a team as needed.
- Travel to various Caritas locations to conduct maintenance work or oversee vendor activities.
- Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED
Degree/Field Required: High school diploma (Related fields will be considered.)
Degree/Field Preferred: N/A (Related fields will be considered.)
Experience Required: Minimum 1-3 years (Can be interchanged with equivalent experience from an advanced degree related to this job and/or with other relevant experience verified by applicant/incumbent).
