About Us
CARITAS creates a safe space to heal and time to rebuild. We are a family of five programs working to provide effective, permanent solutions to individuals and families dealing with the crisis of homelessness and/or addiction in the Metro Richmond area: CARITAS Shelter, CARITAS Works, The Healing Place, CARITAS Furniture Bank, and the CARITAS Recovery Residences.
Job Description
Summary/Objective
We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote The Works System Workforce curriculum. This role requires a strong understanding of marketing principles, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to CARITAS' mission.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to raise awareness of The Works System Workforce curriculum.
- Work closely with the Works team to create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, email newsletters, and the CARITAS website.
- Collaborate with the CARITAS team to identify target audiences and tailor marketing efforts to reach them effectively.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain and update marketing materials to ensure they reflect current program offerings and organizational branding.
- Attend and represent CARITAS at community events, workshops, and networking opportunities to promote The Works System Workforce curriculum.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in marketing, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and marketing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Canva).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Passion for CARITAS' mission and commitment to social impact.

Competencies
Must have reliable transportation and have knowledge of all federal, state and local compliance and safety regulations. The ability to work with contractors and outside suppliers and work well with CARITAS' client population are necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Dominion iSolved. Able to quickly navigate Indeed.com and the internet for job search and applications.

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED Experience in Workforce Programs, Recovery, Class Facilitation and Program Development.
