POSITION: Support Team Member
Carl Albert State College is a recipient of the Department of Education Title III Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions Grant (NASNTI) funding for this position.
Job Description:
The Support Team Member will assist the Support Team Coordinator in piloting new support services for students in targeted Virtual Campus courses. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Support Team Coordinator to customize and implement the new support system for virtual campus students in areas such as General Education, Child Development, Business Administration, and Criminal Justice.
- Providing academic coaching and advising to assigned students in targeted courses and programs.
- Identifying students who require additional support and connecting them to relevant resources, including financial aid assistance, counseling, and career services.
- Assisting with data collection to evaluate the effectiveness of the new support system.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Advising, Counseling, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
- At least two years of experience in student services, advising, and/or counseling, preferably in a postsecondary setting.
- Excellent technology skills, including experience with data-informed practices, Blackboard LMS, and Zoom videoconferencing.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including Native American, low-income, and traditionally underserved students, is an asset.
