About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist will play an essential role in driving the daily operations of HR at Carl's Place. This position will be responsible for handling key functions—including recruitment, compensation and benefits, leave, compliance, and employee relations—while ensuring that HR practices run efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities
- Manages the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates for open positions; partners with department leaders to identify the specific skills and competencies required for each role.
- Coordinates and oversees background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Oversees the onboarding process, including coordinating and facilitating new hire orientation to ensure a smooth and engaging transition for all new employees.
- Administers and executes human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; talent and performance management; engagement and recognition; and occupational health and safety.
- Addresses employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, escalating complex matters to the appropriate leaders.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; continually reviews policies and procedures to align with legal standards and best practices.
- Stays up to date on emerging trends, industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Provides backup support for the front desk and assists with payroll processing as needed.
- Handles other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of human resources experience with strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and HRIS systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of handling challenging situations.
- Committed to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
