CNC Machinist Job Descriptions
Responsibilities:
- Setup and operate CNC machines to manufacture tooling to support manufacturing floor
- Read and interpret drawings to determine machining methods
- Prepare materials for CNC mills, lathes, and wire EDMS
- Select and install appropriate tooling for CNC programs
- Assist mfg. assembly floor and stamping operation with tooling needs and issues
- Collaborate with engineering to improve tooling and efficiency
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and assist with reworked tooling work order diagnostics
- Inspect tooling coming out of machines for quality and dimensional accuracy
Skills:
- Prior experience in CNC machine operation, programming, and setup
- General GD&T knowledge, math skills, and basic machining calculations
- Knowledge of measurement instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins, etc.
- Experience with cam software such as fusion360 or other similar packages
- Proficient knowledge of machining techniques as well as manual machine operations (mills, lathes, grinders, and bandsaws)
- Leadership and teamwork abilities are vital
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Manual Machining capabilities to support CNC setup
- Experience annealing and heat-treating tool steels is a plus
- Working and collaborating with Engineering and assembly operators is a plus
- 5 years of CNC and CAM machining
Hours:
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break.
