The Product and Applications Sales Specialist (PASS) for 3D Microscopy Solutions (FIBSEM & XRM) is a highly skilled and technical position which relies heavily on technical competence for system demonstrations and product training - to meet customer requirements. Success requires strong customer support for both product and applications, for the defined portfolio in Focused Ion Beam Microscopy & X-Ray Microscopy. This is a Nordics role, covering the entire Nordics – for both the Academic and Industrial markets for Materials Research and Electronics. Your work includes, but is not limited to: Provide technical support to Account Managers for pre-sale and post-sale activities, and to support existing customers. Understand the needs of prospective customers to qualify their application/instrumentation needs. Support of the Sales team will include, but not be limited to, pre-sales technical discussions with customers, input to tender processes and proof of concept demonstrations. High quality support of the current install base – key factor in development of customer accounts to improve and ensure the future success of sales projects. This will typically include training following system installations and on-going user training. Working closely with the Sector Business Developers to develop and drive future business growth Enhancing the operation of the business, position, or reputation in some way The Product Applications Sales Specialist (PASS) – EM & XRM is expected to be the highest-level expert in terms of knowledge of their market sector, its customers, and the products or services ZEISS provides. Your work will often reach across all areas of the business, as such, significant networking, idea sharing, and implementation is expected. Responsibilities Including but not limited to: Pre Sales: Support sales with expert technical and applications knowledge for ongoing sales opportunities. This will include involvement in customer meetings (conducted virtually or in-person as required), demonstrations, technical discussions, tender preparation, and presentations to customers. Support ZEISS staff with technical queries. Support the Sector Business Developers on events, Applications Development work on customer collaborations and other Business Development activities that drives future growth. Understand the market and competitor landscape from electron and x-ray microscopy in the Nordics region. Post Sales: Support installation process with system configurations, training, and on-going application support. Promote potential upgrades to existing customers, and provide technical support to the After-Sales team for upgrades of existing systems. Other: Develop and undertake technical product and application presentations for mixed audiences Deliver internal and customer training courses as required. Keep ZEISS CRM system updated with your activities, opportunities, and support tickets. Attend trainings when new products are released, and relay the trainings to the Account Managers, Aftersales, and the rest of the PASS team. Undertake other duties that may be required from time to time. Travel Domestic or international travel will be required to ZEISS locations and or customer locations to execute duties in the field. You will be expected to attend trainings and meetings in Germany, and the US, and occasionally travel to other countries. In-person visits to customers sites when needed to support sales topics Development Full training in our products, systems and processes is provided. Able to organise their own day-to-day schedule. Essential Undergraduate Degree in either Life Science or Materials Science Electron Microscopy domain specific expertise Minimum of 3 years hands-on working knowledge of FE- SEM or Focused Ion Beam microscopy experience Knowledge of Academic Core Facilities and how they operate. Experience with training staff/customers on operating Electron microscopy systems. Full driving licence Valid passport Desirable Post-graduate degree in either Life Science or Materials Science Knowledge of software for post-acquisition image analysis Knowledge of working with one or a mix of the following types of samples: Life Science Materials Science Electronic Materials and Devices Knowledge of operating 3D X-Ray microscopy systems Performance indicators Annual performance is defined on an individual level by way of a variable compensation scheme or VCS. This is defined at the start of the FY and assessed at the end of the FY.
