Position Summary :
The Ophthalmic Photographer is responsible for providing diagnostic imaging support to clinical physicians. Perform a varierty of highly skilled duties associated with the operation of specialized equipment to assist physicians in the examination and treatment of diseases of the eye. Perform multiple ophthalmic imaging procedures including; digital and film fluorescein / ICG angiography, color fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, anterior segment slit-lamp biomicroscopy, goniography, public relations and teaching-based general photography and media support. Must maintain ongoing requirements for research trials. May supervise other Photographers (including temporary workers and affiliated staff).
Qualifications :
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associates Related Field CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Certified Optical Coherence Tomographers (OCT-C) within 6 months and Certified Retinal Angiographer-(CRA) within 4 years and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) From the following certification bodies : National Health Career Association (NHA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or American Allied Health (AAH) within 1 year or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) From the following certification bodies : American Medical Technologists (AMT) or the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) within 1 year. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1 year experience in related healthcare field. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Work requires considerable knowledge of standard photographic techniques, materials, processes, and equipment generally obtained through training in photography or medical / biomedical photography / communication and certification as a retinal photographer / angiographer through fundus photograph and OCT reading centers.
