We are looking for a creative, energetic Activities Assistant to join our
dynamic team of professionals!
Training will be provided for entry level employees.
This position is responsible for the facilitation of the highest quality
programs for the Residents of Carleton-Willard Nursing and Rehab.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As part of an interdisciplinary team, conduct, organize and facilitate daily social, physical, mental and educational activities for Residents.
- Assist in development of a plan of care based on each Resident assessment with measurable goals and appropriate intervention or approach.
- Conduct one-on-ones, small group and large group activities according to the programming schedule.
- Accurately document Resident attendance to groups or one-to-one programming.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of activities for which the assistant is responsible and modify the activity to meet the Resident’s needs and interests.
- Encourage socialization, provide stimulation, entertainment and enrichment.
- Transport Residents to and from activities and regularly request the assistance from nursing that is needed.
- Implement the Virtual Visits Program
Qualifications:
- Experience in a social or recreation programs in a long-term care setting preferred.
- Experience with Alzheimer’s Residents preferred.
