Facility Painter-Technician
Job Summary:
As a member of the facilities team, this position performs routine manual tasks involved in the maintenance, preparation, and beautification of campus buildings and campus grounds. Other tasks include spreading salt/sand, repairing/patching, refinishing benches/fences/posts, painting roadway markings, directional lines, arrows for parking lots throughout the campus grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow-up on assignments given to painting and wallpapering staff.
- Responsible for maintaining all wallcovering and painted areas.
- Assure quality, cleanliness and proper completion of assigned duties.
- Maintain all necessary records and reports as required and needed.
- Work in conjunction with other Department Supervisors in the preparation of units.
- Performs routine painting tasks to assist skilled tradespeople engaged in maintenance, repair or maintain building structures.
- Transportation of residents.
- Snow removal including plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, treatment to walkways and roadways when icy conditions, and other manual tasks involved with snow removal, control and disposal.
- Set up and breakdown of activity events.
- Cleans campus property such as corridors, walls, floors, windows, furniture, empties and cleans waste barrels, garbage cans and other waste receptacles.
- Refuels trucks or automobiles
- Locks or unlocks premises; reports hazardous and unusual situations to the appropriate authority.
- Prepares, file reports and keeps simple records of paint colors and finishes.
- Essential personnel first response team member for all types of weather, facility problems and emergencies.
- Participate in on-call rotation.
- Flexibility in work hours to include weekends and holidays to support 24/7 operation.
- Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
- Applies “5 Star” customer service approach in all aspects of job.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations, or standards of conduct.
- Attends required in-services and training.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid MA State Driver’s License
- OSHA 10 training preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of painting and wallpapering procedures and equipment.
- Knowledge of sheetrock repair and plastering.
- Basic knowledge of emergency snow removal equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work well with interdisciplinary teams, residents and families.
