What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner, PD position at Carleton-Willard Village?
Nurse Practitioner, Per Diem (Every other Saturday)
We are currently recruiting for a Per Diem Nurse
Practitioner to provide medical/clinical services to Residents of our
Apartments and Cluster Homes at the Out-Patient Clinic and conducting rounds on
our Nursing Units.
Responsibilities include: Offering
medical/clinical services on Saturdays, Holidays and weekdays as needed.Providing Saturday Clinic hours from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Residents in
Apartments and Cluster Homes for urgent medical needs and follow-up visits. New
Employee physicals and PPDs are also provided in the Clinic on Saturdays.Problem-solving with Residents who have medical concerns, including calling
outside physicians or their coverage on the Resident’s behalf, if needed.Facilitating diagnostics and prescriptions that
are needed over the weekend.Responding to urgent and emergency needs in the Skilled Nursing Center.Making rounds from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. to each Nursing Center unit to assess
individual Residents who have urgent medical needs and ordering diagnostic
studies and treatments. If new treatments are initiated, communicating with
primary care physicians as needed.Meeting with families and/or phoning families when changes in medical status
arise over the weekend.Providing medical and nursing consultation to the Nursing Supervisor and
nursing staff.Arranging temporary stays at the Nursing Center for Residents who develop an
urgent need. This is done in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications:Nurse Practitioner licensed in advanced practice by the MA Board of
Registration of Nursing and credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing
CenterMaster’s degree with education and training in Geriatrics3 years of NP experience including one year in a geriatric settingExcellent communication and organizational skills.
This is a per diem, or as needed position. We are looking for
someone to cover two Saturdays/month and possible holiday and vacation coverage
if available.
