What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Technician position at CARLEX?
KEY TASKS
• Conduct regular HSE inspections of facility operations to ensure they meet company and regulatory compliance. Document inspections and follow up on corrective action items.
• Provide assistance to Regional Health & Safety Manager in the area of Worker’s Compensation investigations, modified duties, reporting and return-to-work programs.
• Conduct all sampling as required by the facility NPDES permit and facility POTW permit.
• Assist with management of the Carlex Environmental, Health & Safety Management System (EHS-MS).
• Assist in providing training to team members on EH&S policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assist with programs to monitor physical, biological, and chemical hazards and develop action plans to mitigate associated risks.
• Assist Regional Environmental Manager with report preparation and data collection.
• Assist with management of the Carlex Environmental, Health & Safety Management System (EHS-MS).
• Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and updating of written safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures to ensure environmental, health and safety recommendations are compliant.
• Provide assistance to Regional Health & Safety Manager and Regional Environmental Manager with all federal, state, and local regulatory agency inspections.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Health, and Safety, Engineering, or equivalent.
Years of Experience:
• 0-2 years of experience in progressive EHS career or other relevant experience required.
Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license required
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Reliant on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
