JOB TITLE Carlisle Elementary Secretary REPORTS TO Building Principal
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma and / or specialized training or experience in secretarial related responsibilitiesAble to use Windows based computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and updated software as it becomes availableTelephone answering, information, referral, and message-taking skillsDemonstrates integrity and respects confidentialityAble to adapt to and work effectively in a fast paced environment with a variety of situations, individuals, and groups. Requires command of detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and demandsAble to communicate and interact effectively with external and internal publicsMust clear criminal background and child and dependent adult abuse checkCertificate of good health signed by a licensed practitionerPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Enhances the administrative procedures of the building by serving in a liaison capacity between the principal, parents, students, and staffProvides clerical support including, but not limited to, word processing, grade reporting, reporting absences, calling parents for verification, and maintaining such files as deemed appropriateProvides registrar services by maintaining accurate student records in the student information system.Develops and maintains effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and community membersExhibits a positive attitude towards studentsWelcomes and logs visitors, determine their needs, directs or escorts them to their destinationOperates computer, copier, facsimile machine, etc as necessaryTypes a variety of material, such as letters, student / personnel records, reports, etc.Sorts and routes incoming mailReceipts money in accordance with business managers directionOrients substitutes for teaching and support staff as neededGathers data and completes reports as neededAssists in orientation of individuals in operations and care of office equipment, office procedures, and when assigned, building proceduresManage K-8 student identification in Project Easier, the state student identification systemCoordinate registration of preschool and kindergarten studentsComplete other duties as assigned by the principalPHYSICAL DEMANDS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
