Job Title: Assistant Director – Childcare Center

Position Overview:
The Assistant Director at Carlisle Early Education Center (CEEC) plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the center while fostering a nurturing and collaborative environment for children, families, and staff. This position requires a dynamic and adaptable professional who can balance administrative duties with part-time classroom support, ensuring compliance with Keystone STARS and Department of Human Services (DHS) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
- Assist the Director in the overall management of the center, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Create and maintain staff schedules to meet DHS staff-to-child ratio requirements.
- Monitor compliance with Keystone STARS and DHS standards, ensuring ongoing accreditation and quality improvement.
- Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and communicating with families and staff.
- Oversee and manage aspects of the center’s financial operations, including budgeting, expense tracking, and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
Classroom Support:
- Step into classrooms as needed to provide hands-on support to teachers and ensure continuity of care.
- Serve as a role model for best practices in early childhood education, demonstrating effective classroom management and teaching techniques.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that encourages teamwork, adaptability, and collaboration.
- Act as a mentor and resource for staff, providing guidance and support to ensure professional growth and satisfaction.
- Assist with planning and implementing family and community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (required).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a childcare or early education setting, with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Keystone STARS and DHS standards and requirements.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A positive attitude, team-player mentality, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and administrative tools.
